Research

Important Information

The Shasta Historical Society is open to the public Tuesday – Saturday from 10am to 4pm. Due to a staffing shortage, we strongly encourage calling ahead two weeks in advance for research requests at this time. That will allow our staff time to find materials related to your request ahead of time so that we may best serve you.                                                                                                                              Face masks are strongly encouraged per State guidelines as we continue efforts to protect our collections and staff. To set up an appointment please call (530) 243-3720 or reach out by email to  shs@shastahistorical.org. Face masks and gloves are required when handling library and archival materials. Thank you for your patience and support.

Have a question about local history? Doing research on family genealogy? Our Library and Archives may be where you will find answers. Explore maps, photographs, yearbooks, reference books, telephone directories and more in your quest for answers.
