The Shasta Historical Society is the primary repository for Shasta County history.  In addition to our research library, the Historical Society houses more than 1,000 objects and over 20,000 photographs.  We are currently working on an online database of these collections.

The Society is always looking to expand its collection.  Do you have an item or significance to Shasta County? Would you like to donate it to the Society? Wonderful!  Our item donation days are Wednesday and Friday from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm.

Please be aware that it could take 10-30 minutes depending on the size of your donation.  We encourage you to call and make an appointment with our Registrar, Nikki, or our Curator, Kara, so that we can be sure to give you our undivided attention.

If you are interested in learning more about Shasta County or accessing our collections please call us at 530-243-3720 or visit us at 1449 Market Street, Redding, CA 96001 Monday-Friday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.  At the Historical Society, you can also visit our various local history exhibits, or click below to visit these online exhibits:
