Second Saturday Story Time

The Shasta Historical Society hosts a history themed story time on Facebook the second Saturday of each month. About 1/2 hour in length, it is appropriate for children ten and under, but all children are welcome.. This month’s selection, Little People, BIG DREAMS Rosa Parks by Lisbeth Kaiser, will be read by Kelsey Farquhar. This book is one of a bestselling series of books that explore the lives of outstanding people, all of whom achieved incredible things, yet each began life as a child with a dream. Rosa Parks grew up in Alabama, where she learned to stand up for herself at an early age. In 1955, she refused to give up her seat to a white man on a segregated bus, sparking the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Her courageous decision had a huge impact on civil rights, eventually leading to the end of segregation on public transport. The Program will be recorded for later viewing on the Shasta Historical Society’s YouTube Channel.
