Book Club Meeting

Do you enjoy history? Do you like reading books? If the answer is yes, consider joining The Shasta Historical Society book club where we explore a variety of topics associated with local, state, and national history. Monthly we explore a different book and meet on the last Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. to enjoy a discussion with fellow readers, moderated by Society staff.

August Book Club Selection: The Making of Black Lives Matter: A Brief History of an Idea, Updated Edition by Christopher J. LeBron

This condensed intellectual history traces the genesis of the ideas that have built into the #BlackLivesMatter movement. August’s book club selection is offered in a bid to help us make sense of the emotions, demands, and arguments of present-day activists and public thinkers.
