The mission statement of the Shasta Historical Society is, “to collect, preserve, promote and communicate the history of Shasta County.”
As an educational and research institution, Shasta Historical Society teaches Shasta County history through collections, scholarly publications, and research services. Visitors become witnesses to history and explore the dynamics of local heritage. At SHS we strive to make Shasta County a special place to live, work and visit since 1930.
